Tiffin for a Tenner

Small tins filled with food that we crave.

An Indian entrepreneur, Mahadeo Havaji Bacche, invented the Tiffin distribution business back in 1890, to meet the culinary needs of Bombay's rapidly expanding working population, both Indian and British.

The Indian population knew Tiffin as 'proper home food' - the food you would send to your loved one, knowing they were getting the best food, freshly & lovingly prepared for them. The British used Tiffin as a term for a light meal of exquisite morsels, eaten during the day.

To this end, Roti has put together a menu of favorite dishes made for us by our Indian mothers, fathers, grandmothers, aunts and uncles. This is special food that earns the loving words 'home cooked'. These dishes are usually had on high days and holidays, but you can have them here at ROTI all the time!
